Quartz is a man-made material that combines crushed stone with color and resin to make an engineered slab. Quartz countertops are stain resistant and easy to clean. Because they are non-porous, bacteria have great difficulty penetrating the material. This material can discolor over time when exposed to direct sunlight or heat, as well as with hot pans over it.
